Here's another Native American inspired craft using a paper towel roll. Use it to represent your family or favorite things.

Materials:
- white paper
- old magazines
- paint
- flour
- water in a bowl
- small Styrofoam ball or ping pong ball
- scissors
- 4 different colors construction paper
- glue
Directions:
- Cut 4 different colors of construction paper into strips a few inches wide and wrap and glue onto the paper towel roll as shown.
- Think about what animal you want to represent your family. Prepare paper mache paste by mixing flour and water in a bowl.
- Tear white paper into strips, dip in the paste and cover your Styrofoam ball. Allow to dry.
- Paint and decorate your animal head. The example is a duck. Allow to dry.
- Cut out favorite pictures from old magazines and glue onto the paper towel roll. Or decorate each color strip to look like an animal.
- Glue your animal head on top of your totem pole.
