Thanksgiving Handprint Turkey Collage Craft


This great looking Thanksgiving Handprint Turkey Collage craft idea comes from a Japanese blog.

Materials:
  • various colored construction paper
  • scissors
  • pencil

Directions:

  1. Trace and cut out child's hands on brown paper.
  2. Glue handprints onto a sheet of construction paper.
  3. Cut and glue on a piece for the waddle and draw details of eyes and wavy lines for wings.
  4. Tear colorful strips of paper and glue on for the tail feathers.

Thanksgiving Pilgrim Hat Popcorn Craft



Here's a unique Thanksgiving Pilgrim hat craft I found online.

Materials:

  • black construction paper
  • orange construction paper or craft foam
  • popped popcorn
  • glue

Directions:

  1. Draw an outline of a Pilgrim hat with glue on black paper.
  2. Cover the glue line with popcorn.
  3. Cut a rectangular piece from orange paper or craft foam and glue in the middle for the hat's buckle. Allow to dry.

Summer Collage Craft


Here's an easy and fun summer collage craft.

Materials:
  • white card stock
  • old magazines
  • scissors
  • glue
  • crayons

Directions:

  1. Draw a sun in the middle of your sheet of card stock.
  2. Cut out summer related pictures from old magazines; pools, the beach, swimwear, fireworks, ice cream, summer foods, etc.
  3. Glue your pictures on the paper.

Paper Plate Snail Craft


Here's a cute snail craft made from a paper plate that's easy to make.

Materials:

  • paper plate
  • colorful tissue paper squares
  • construction paper
  • scissors
  • glue
  • google eye

Directions:
  1. Apply glue all over your paper plate and cover in colorful tissue paper squares. This is the shell. Allow to dry.
  2. Cut a long oval shape from green or brown construction paper. This is the body. Glue your paper plate on top.
  3. Add a google eye to your snail.

President's Day Lincoln Log Cabin Craft




Here's a really fun President's Day Lincoln log cabin craft that kids can mostly do on their own and brings out their creativity.

Materials:

  • white paper
  • brown construction paper
  • scissors
  • glue
  • a penny

Directions:

  1. Have students cut the brown paper into strips. Draw lines for them to cut or let them go free handed.
  2. Glue on strips for the walls and roof to make the outline of the house. Glue more strips horizontally to fill in the log cabin. Trim the strips as necessary.
  3. Cut a rectangular door and 2 square windows.
  4. Glue on a penny so it looks like Lincoln is looking out the window.
  5. If desired, add a black chimney.

Christmas Tree Drinking Straw Collage Craft


This is a great looking and fun Christmas tree collage craft made from drinking straws.

Materials:

  • various colored plastic drinking straws
  • scissors
  • glue
  • sheet of construction paper(blue is nice)

Directions:

  1. Cut colored drinking straws into various lengths. Make a triangle or pyramid shape with green and red.
  2. Glue the tree in place on construction paper.
  3. Glue on smaller pieces for the ornaments, tree base, and star.

I love this really original Christmas Tree Craft recycled from old puzzle pieces.

Materials:

  • old puzzle pieces
  • cardboard
  • glue
  • gold spray paint
  • ribbon

Directions:

  1. Cut a simple Christmas tree shape from cardboard.
  2. Glue on old puzzle pieces.
  3. Spray paint everything gold.
  4. Glue a ribbon on the back to hang up.
