Fruit Paper Craft

This is a great idea to develop creativity for older students. No templates! You could pre-cut a few pieces for examples. Just let their imaginations run wild. This is for students with good motor and scissor skills, but you could simplify it for younger ones. The top picture shows  a watermelon, a persimmon, and chestnuts. The bottom picture shows grapes, an orange, and a strawberry. Details like seeds can be drawn with a pencil.

Materials:

  • 1 piece of white paper like printer paper or art paper
  • many pieces of multicolor paper (origami paper is good)
  • scissors
  • glue
  • pencil
  • examples

Directions:

  1. Give each student a paper plate and have them write their name on it.
  2. Show them good examples and how to cut the various shapes.
  3. Glue onto the white paper.
The grapes are made with many individual purple circles. You could adapt this idea for vegetables or other every day objects. Have fun.
