Stained Glass Cellophane Window Decorations

Fall Pumpkin Sun Catcher Craft


This Halloween Pumpkin Sun Catcher Craft will look great hanging in the window during Halloween or anytime.

Materials:

  • pumpkin template from site below
  • yellow and orange tissue paper
  • black construction paper
  • scissors
  • contact paper
  • pencil
  • yarn
  • glue

Directions:

  1. Cut the tissue paper into 1 inch squares.
  2. Fold back the backing of the contact paper. Put on the tissue paper squares in a 8 inch circle. Leave no gaps.
  3. Fold over the backing and smooth out any bubbles.
  4. Print and cut out the pumpkin template. Trace and cut out 2 pumpkins from black paper.
  5. Lay the template over the contact paper you decorated and trace the pumpkin shape. Cut out the shape slightly smaller than the line.
  6. Glue the contact on top of one pumpkin.
  7. Loop the yarn and glue to the top of the contact paper sticking out the top.
  8. Glue and sandwich the other pumpkin on top.
  9. Hang up your pumpkin in a window.

Christmas Tissue Paper Sun Catchers Craft


These are beautiful Christmas sun catchers you can make with tissue paper.

Materials:

  • black card stock
  • various shape templates(cookie cutters work nicely)
  • scissors
  • exacto knife
  • colorful tissue paper squares
  • wax paper or saran wrap
  • glue
  • hole punch
  • string

Directions:

  1. Trace and cut 2 identical rectangles from black card stock.
  2. Trace and cut out the same shape on both rectangles so they match up.
  3. Glue a piece of wax paper or saran wrap over the middle on 1 rectangle.
  4. Cut little squares of colorful tissue paper.
  5. Glue the tissue paper pieces on the wax paper.
  6. Glue the other rectangle on top and sandwich together.
  7. Punch a hole on the top. Tie a a loop to hang up

4th of July Tissue Paper Stars Craft

These 4th of July Tissue paper stars will look great hanging on the window for Independence Day. They're made from tissue paper and contact paper.
Materials:

  • black construction paper
  • contact paper
  • blue and red tissue paper
  • scissors
  • red, white, and blue card stock or construction paper
  • glitter glue and other decorating materials
  • scissors
  • craft knife
  • hole punch
  • string


Directions:

  1. Trace and cut out a large star from black construction paper. Use a craft knife to carefully cut out the center. It might be easier to do this before cutting out the star.
  2. Cut a large sheet of contact paper and peel off the front.
  3. Lay the star on the sticky side of the paper.
  4. Cut red and blue tissue paper into 1 inch squares. Stick the squares all over the inside of the star. Try not to leave any gaps. If they stick outside the star, it's OK. You'll trim them off later.
  5. Peel off another piece of contact paper and sandwich it on top o the first piece. Smooth out and cut out the star.
  6. Cut out 1 square from red, white, and blue construction paper.
  7. Trace big block letters, "U", "S", and "A", 1 for each piece of paper.
  8. Decorate inside the letters with glitter glue or star stickers.
  9. Punch a hole at the top and bottom of the papers and tie them together with string so they read, "USA", vertically.
  10. Punch a hole in the top and bottom of the contact paper star. Tie the letters to the bottom and tie a string at the top to hang up.

Mother's Day Candle Holder Craft

This is a beautiful Mother's day candle holder gift that looks like stained glass.

Materials:
  • small glass jar like a baby food jar.
  • colorful tissue paper
  • scissors
  • glue
  • brush
  • ribbon
  • candle

Directions:

  1. Cut small squares from various colored tissue paper.
  2. Brush white glue all over the outside of the jar.
  3. Apply the tissue squares. Overlap to cover any gaps.
  4. Tie a ribbon around the top.
  5. Place a candle inside and light.

Easy Fish Sun Catcher Craft

Here's an easy fish sun catcher craft you can make from a sheet of contact paper and construction paper.

Materials:

  • sheet of construction paper
  • contact paper
  • decorating materials, felt pieces, bangles, google eyes, etc.
  • scissors

Directions:

  1. Trace a simple fish in the middle of a piece of construction paper.  This one is just an oval body with a big triangle tail.
  2. carefully cut out the fish.
  3. Cut a piece of contact paper slightly smaller than the construction paper, but bigger than the fish shaped hole. Peel off the back of the contact paper and stick to the construction paper.
  4. On the sticky side of the fish, decorate with felt pieces, buttons, and add an eye or two.
  5. Hang up in a window.

Sun Window Catcher Craft

This is a beautiful sun catcher craft you can make from contact paper and tissue paper scraps.

 
Materials:

 
  • scissors
  • contact paper
  • card stock
  • sun template
  • red, orange, and yellow tissue paper

 

 
Directions:

 
  1. Print out the circle and triangle templates or make your own. Trace and cut out from card stock. You need 1 circle and 6 triangles.
  2. Cut a large piece of contact paper. Peel off the backing and place the circle in the middle of the sticky side. Place the triangles around the circle.
  3. Cut the tissue paper into 1 inch squares. Completely cover the sun. If they stick out over the edges, don't worry, you'll cut those off later.
  4. Cut and peel off a second sheet of contact paper and sandwich on top of the sun. Smooth out.
  5. Cut the sun out of the contact paper. Stick to the window or punch a hole and hang on a string.
